Our transmission shift kit improves the shifting of any 4T65e. It works on the standard and HD versions of the transmission and can be installed in 2 hours. Shift kits can increase the chance of hard part failure but they do keep the clutches from slipping and burning. We do not recommend this kit for cars running 20" wheels.
We found with many kits is the lack of instructions as it relates to shift firmness. Many users find themselves guessing at how firm to set up their kits or end up with a kit that shifts great on the 1-2 and weak on the 3-4. Because our kit comes with more shim sizes than our competitor's kit, you can choose 4 levels of shift firmness for the 1-2 and then again for the 2-3 shift. Fixed Max Adapt Issues for 2+ Years. Still Going Strong.
<p>Installed this kit on my 2005 Impala 3.4L.
Had a max adapt code, and extremely hard shifting. Could pull over, start and stop the engine, and then have about 15 minutes of smooth shifting before the extreme shifting came back. At almost every set of lights, the car felt as if it started in 2nd gear and then decided to go back into first after a few feet.
Tried a fluid and filter change, no difference.
Installed this kit, and after 2 years and 50,000kms on the car, I have never had the harsh shift happen again. No max adapt codes, no check engine lights.
It does occasionally still feel as if it starts in 2nd gear, but it is not nearly as common.
Saved me a rebuild, would recommend to anyone with this issues.</p>

<p>I dont have the means to fix this problem right now. I can replace the pcs myself but this being my daily driver, amd considering id be doing it in my driveway I opted to install a shift kit to quell my hard shifts. </p><p>My car was clunking into 3rd gear amd shifting pretty hard into second. After installing the kit (as advised with two 3/4' spacers under the pistons, then a 1/2' spacer in the 1-2 accumulator bore, and a 3/4 in spacer in the 2-3 bore) I unplugged the battery to delete the taps info so my car could relearn shifts with the new fluid and kit. After a few hrs, I plugged the batgery back in and took it for a drive. </p><p>Right away I noticed the shifts were way more crisp. Amd it didmt bang into third. I wasnt too excited at this point because the car only did this after the trnas fluid got hot.</p><p>After 15 miles at 70 mph, then back to street driving, the banging is almost non exsistant. It did do it once or twice in different rpm ranges, but it doesnt happen often and when it does it is FAR LESS dramatic than it previously was. </p><p>The downshifts are incredible. Especially into second from a 40 mph roll. </p><p>I was impressed with the ease of installation. I mean for me, a pan drop on a trans and even playing with the accumulator is standard knowledge, but even if you know nothing, but can turn a wrench, you could install this kit. </p><p>The only thing that bothers me is the cost of these kits (not just this one, all of them). $40 for a couple spacers ? Seems high to me. For a few bucks more the transgo kit comes with new accumulator springs, but no filter. I understand money has to be made, but being in manufacturing, I do believe a profit could still be made even if this kit were sold at 29.99 instead of 39. Bur alas, I am happy with the results and how easy it was to install. Would recommend to anyone who has a sloppy 4t65e tranny and doesnt wamt to spend more money than the vehicle is worth on a rebuild. </p><p>Thanks zzp team. Overall im very happy with your product. I have installed two of these kits on both of my cars...the kit definitely makes a difference, especially when the transmissions downshift to accelerate...would buy another kit if i had any other 4t65e trans

2006 grand prix.been having the hard shifting on and off for a year or so,heard about this kit solving it,and it has.used the same combination judd did becuase i didn't want too hard of a shift.easy to do,and it works
Love it. I think 3/4 on both side of both accumulators would be a nicer shift in 1-2. 2-3 is a very nice shift. It's not neck breaking at all, I think it's just right. Definitely recommend. :)
